What’s Up? June 2025 Roundup

Hello there! Summer’s arrival brings exciting new updates to Bublthings. As we embrace the season, we’re thrilled to launch features designed to enhance your experience and streamline your workflow.
Here comes the Checklist
Directly linked to assets or other entities, checklists come in two types:
- Simple To-Do Lists: Ideal for tracking ongoing tasks or performing spot checks. They serve as a reliable reference to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.
- Checklist Forms: Ideal for capturing detailed information such as text entries, yes/no responses, measurements, signatures, dates, and more.
You can easily create checklist templates and apply them to specific assets or other entities. Once applied, you can run the checklist directly from the corresponding asset or entity profile.
Checklists can be further automated. For example, they can be automatically triggered upon an event, or they can have a certain behaviour depending on the checklist’s results (e.g. send a notification to managers if the checklist fails). If you are interested in checklists’ customisation, you may contact us at helpme@bulbthings.com.
Introducing the Periodic Inventory
After completing your initial asset inventory, Bulbthings enables you to carry out periodic checks and bulk updates to keep your inventory up to date. This feature is handy for maintaining accurate stock levels, identifying discrepancies, and enhancing operational efficiency.
Once you’ve created a new periodic inventory for a selected location, you’ll be able to input the updated quantities found during the check. You can also update the status and condition of serialised assets, such as computers, for example. Once validated, Bulbthings will automatically update the asset quantities and conditions accordingly.
Periodic inventories can be performed via the web or directly from the mobile app. The QR code scanner allows your on-site teams to complete inventories more quickly and efficiently.
Sharing public data
Some use cases may require individuals who do not have a Bulbthings account to be granted access to specific information, thereby making it publicly available. This is now possible via a simple shared link or by enabling access through a QR code.
Here are a few scenarios where sharing data in this way could be useful:
- Allowing office users to view selected information and perform limited actions, such as reporting an issue with office equipment (e.g. a coffee machine).
- Sending work orders to maintenance service providers with restricted information, while allowing them to update relevant details (e.g. the status of the work order assigned to them).
- Sharing contracts with financial service providers, enabling them to view limited information to terminate or renew a contract.
Links can be created from any asset profile. You can generate a public QR code and either print it yourself or order pre-labelled ones directly from us. Anyone can scan the QR code using their smartphone’s camera; however, only the fields previously marked as “Public” will be visible.
